PWD Studio at the 44th CSOL Designer Showhouse: Where Timeless Design Meets Creative Vision
We are thrilled to announce our participation in the 44th Charleston Symphony Orchestra League (CSOL) Designer Showhouse, set to open its doors in the spring of 2024. After a three-year hiatus, the CSOL Showhouse is returning with renewed vigor, and we're excited to be a part of this prestigious event.
About the CSOL
The Charleston Symphony Orchestra League (CSOL) has a rich tradition of bringing music and art together. Their commitment extends beyond music, as they actively support the arts and education. The 44th Designer Showhouse is a testament to their dedication, promising to be a magnificent showcase of talent, creativity, and community spirit.
Mark your calendars! The CSOL Designer Showhouse will be open to the public from March 13th to April 13th, 2024. In addition to regular viewings, special events featuring Symphony musicians, local artists, culinary leaders, interior designers, and architects will be held in the Showhouse. These events will provide unique experiences and opportunities to explore the house in depth.
About the House
The canvas for the showhouse is 6 Montagu Street, nestled in the heart of the historic Harleston Village in downtown Charleston. This 1803 gem is undergoing a transformation under the guidance of visionaries. The project blends historic restoration at the front with a breathtaking three-story addition at the back, complete with newly landscaped gardens and a pool.
The homeowner, driven by a deep appreciation for Charleston's architectural heritage, considers this endeavor a legacy project. 6 Montagu, once divided into multiple apartments, is now being reimagined as a single-family home. The meticulous historic restoration at the front of the original house is a nod to its storied past, while the artistically designed three-story addition at the rear represents a creative vision for the future. The gardens, carefully landscaped, promise to be a serene oasis in the heart of the city. It's a captivating blend of old and new, where history meets innovation.
About the Primary Bathroom Design
The room we are designing is the primary bathroom, where we plan for history meets modernity in a harmonious blend. Our design is a tribute to Charleston's rich heritage, encapsulated in a timeless and classic aesthetic.
We've carefully chosen natural materials like white-washed oak cabinetry, Zellige tile crafted from natural clay, and plaster walls. Brass plumbing fixtures add warmth and character, maturing gracefully over time. Modern glass elements provide a striking contrast.
The freestanding tub is bathed in natural light from floor-to-ceiling windows, framed by marble, making it the focal point of serenity in the suite. Custom-designed natural wood vanities bring warmth, texture, and organization.
