LEAD INTERIOR DESIGNER
Charleston, SC
Summary
PWD Studio seeks an experienced and creative Lead Interior Designer & Project Manager. This candidate will lead interior design projects from concept development to completion, ensuring our clients' expectations are met and exceeded. In addition to design and project management experience, excellent communication and mentorship skills are crucial to the success of this role.
This person will work collaboratively and closely with PWD Studio's Founder & Creative Director to support the overall success of high-end residential, hospitality, and commercial projects. The ideal candidate will have at least five years of design experience, exceptional design sensibility, a passion for innovation, and a very strong work ethic that aligns with the studio's values: humble, hungry, and smart.
Responsibilities
- Develop and manage residential and hospitality interior design projects, from concept development to completion.
- Work closely with clients to understand their needs and independently develop design proposals that meet their requirements, with approval by PWD Studio's Founder & Creative Director.
- Select materials, finishes, furniture, and accessories that meet PWD Studio's style guidelines, clients' design requirements, and budget constraints.
- Manage project budgets, timelines, and finish schedules, ensuring that projects are completed on time and within budget.
- Manage projects using PWD approved software, follow PWD designed systems and be an example to other staff members by using these programs to their fullest potential.
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, contractors, and other industry professionals to ensure conceptualized and proposed designs are feasible and meet relevant codes and regulations.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to junior designers and assist in their growth while simultaneously managing your projects.
- Create and/or manage the production of 3D visualizations and renderings to help clients visualize design concepts.
- Produce drawings, plans, and specifications using CAD software.
- Prepare presentations and present your proposed design concepts to clients in-office and virtually. Participate in peer reviews prior to client meetings.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends, materials, and technologies.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Interior Design or Architecture or a related field.
- 5 years of demonstrated interior design experience with a portfolio that illustrates your previous work experience.
- Proficiency in computer-aided design (CAD) software, such as AutoCAD, SketchUp, or Revit.
- Knowledge of building codes, regulations, and standards.
- Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills, with the ability to build strong client relationships.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
- Strong leadership skills, with the ability to mentor and guide junior designers.
- A sharp eye for detail, creative problem-solving skills, and the ability to stay solution-focused when faced with challenges.
- Must be located in Charleston, SC, have a valid driver's license, and be able to travel locally and out of state to job sites.

Interior Design Marketing & Social Media Coordinator

Summary
PWD Studio is looking for an Interior Design Marketing & Social Media Coordinator to join our growing team in Charleston, SC. This team member is responsible for supporting interior design projects while simultaneously driving the studio’s digital presence through creative content and social media coordination. The role supports design execution, material fulfillment, content creation, and project deadlines, working closely with Lead Interior Designers, the Founder & Chief Creative Officer, and the Operations Manager to ensure both design and brand initiatives are executed.
The ideal candidate is passionate about interior design and highly creative in visual storytelling. A minimum of 1–2 years of design and/or social media content creation experience is preferred, along with exceptional work ethic.
Responsibilities
Marketing and Social Media
- Concept, develop, and execute creative, engaging content that elevates the brand, the work, and the team at PWD Studio.
- Create, manage, and publish content across all platforms (Instagram, TikTok, Pinterest, Linkedin).
- Produce and manage a wide range of content, including: Short-form video, photography, posts, reels, and stories, emails, and website updates
- Lead video production and editing from pre- to post-production, including filming, editing, sound design, and final delivery.
- Develop and manage a content calendar to ensure consistent, timely posting aligned with studio projects, launches, and press.
- Analyze content performance and engagement metrics to inform future strategy and creative direction.
- Stay ahead of trends, internet culture, and platform updates—curating fresh, shareable, and aspirational content.
- Manage and grow PWD Studio’s ShopMy account, including affiliate links, product tagging, and monetization strategy.
- Collaborate with the interior design team to translate project milestones, installations, and behind-the-scenes moments into compelling social storytelling.
- Organize and coordinate photoshoots, including styling needs, shot lists, and post-project content capture.
- Work closely with public relations partners to fulfill press opportunities, asset requests, and deadlines.
- Maintain a cohesive visual identity and brand voice across all digital touchpoints.
Interior Design Support
- Working knowledge of design drawings and plan sets to support project coordination and content accuracy.
- Assist Lead Designers with design selections, preparing and organizing options for fabrics, finishes, tile, paint, lighting, hardware, and fixtures.
- Source FF&E from vendors, subcontractors, and artisans; gather specifications, samples, lead times, and accurate pricing information.
- Support site visits, installations, and client meetings as needed to help ensure design intent is carried through.
- Work collaboratively with the design team, operations, and leadership to support workflow efficiency and successful project execution.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Interior Design and/or Marketing or related field.
- 1-3+ years of experience in interior design support, and/or social media content creation.
- Strong portfolio showcasing interior design work and/or successful social media campaigns and content creation.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD or Revit experience is a plus.
- Strong visual and design sensibility with a clear understanding of interior styling, composition, and branding.
- Expert knowledge of social media platforms, trends, and content tools.
- Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite and Canva; video editing experience required
- Understanding of affiliate marketing, ShopMy, and digital monetization strategies preferred.
- Strong copywriting and storytelling skills with an understanding of how to drive engagement.
- Exceptional organization, time management, and multitasking abilities in a fast-paced environment.
- Clear communicator with the ability to take creative direction and execute independently.
- Enthusiasm for interior design, creativity, and continuous learning.
- Must be located in Charleston, SC, have a valid driver’s license, and be able to travel locally (and occasionally out of state) for projects, installations, and shoots.
