Set between the rolling fairways of Osprey Point Golf Course and the still waters of a Kiawah lagoon, this home was designed as a gathering place where multiple generations could come together while remaining deeply connected to the landscape that surrounds it.
The interiors balance clean lined midcentury influences with the warmth of cottage inspired design, creating a sensibility that feels both refined and relaxed. Though modest in size by Kiawah standards, every inch of the 3,500 square foot home was designed with intention. Barrel vaulted ceilings draw the eye throughout the residence, creating a sense of openness, rhythm, and scale that makes the home feel far larger than its footprint.
Throughout the home, craftsmanship takes center stage. Custom millwork, richly veined marble, and tailored cabinetry by JCH Cabinets create a layered material palette that feels both sophisticated and inviting. In the kitchen, a substantial marble island with a French pastry inspired edge serves as the focal point, complemented by a sculptural brass pendant and a hand finished plaster hood. The result is a space that balances architectural presence with everyday livability.
Art and storytelling are woven throughout the home. Commissioned works by local Charleston artists create moments of nostalgia for the Lowcountry, including a custom painting of the family inspired by cherished days spent along the shores of Kiawah Island.
Elsewhere, playful touches add personality and warmth: a jewel box powder room wrapped in marigold wallcovering, a Farrow and Ball Inchyra Blue color drenched bar, an elevator lined in brass paneling and vintage beach club wallpaper by Erika Powell Textiles, and a hand painted mural in the scullery inspired by a beloved Charleston restaurant. A moody office wrapped in rich chocolate brown grasscloth provides a striking counterpoint to the home's lighter, airy spaces.
Thoughtful architecture, exceptional craftsmanship, and deeply personal details come together to create a retreat that feels timeless, welcoming, and enduring for generations to come.
