Textures and sounds abound here. From the smooth contours of putting greens to the graceful sway of marsh grass, harmonic birdsong, and the crisp strike of a ball against a driver.
Set on 800 acres, the Golf Club at Briar’s Creek is as much about its natural surroundings as it is about the game. The clubhouse is the social center of this retreat, where members gather off the course and the Lowcountry’s serene sense of place is reflected in its walls.
After completing a series of guest cottages, we were invited to reimagine the clubhouse itself. PWD Studio transformed the bar, game room, foyer, dining room, conference room, men’s and women’s locker rooms and bathrooms, and introduced a new al-fresco cigar lounge.
Custom furniture was introduced throughout, including bespoke pieces for dining, lounging, and entertaining. Hand-milled details like a refrigerated wine storage system and a refreshment bar in the foyer, serve as daily service touchpoints for members, whether beginning the day at sunrise or unwinding after 18 holes.
Each space was layered with vibrant rugs, statement lighting, tailored hardware, and textural, fine finishes. Selections balance tradition with a contemporary sensibility, preserving the club’s formal identity while infusing it with a lighter, more welcoming spirit that encourages members to slow their pace, enjoy one another’s company, and find a place of respite.
