What was once a compartmentalized, white-on-white kitchen is now an enviable, cutting-edge space rich in texture, high end finishes, and worthy of an Iron Chef.
Our client envisioned a high-functioning, open-concept kitchen that could anchor gatherings and everyday life. The original layout fractured the experience, with disconnected zones for the kitchen, sink, bar, and dining areas.
A centralized, cohesive space with open sight lines was created by removing walls, widening windows, and grounding the space with a large walnut and marble island.
While culinary innovation is at the heart of the space, design excellence shares the spotlight. Custom elements abound: walnut cabinetry brings warmth and masculine structure, topped with richly veined marble countertops. Fluted walnut feature walls add sculptural texture, framing the dining room and opening to the mudroom.
Urban Electric sconces wrapped in Schumacher textiles, custom-fabricated bar stools, and a bespoke, handcrafted walnut dining table grounds the space with a bold, geometric base.
The material palette of layered, rich, traditional texture was thoughtfully selected to harmoniously contrast with our client’s vibrant, contemporary art collection.
